So, apropos of yesterday's July 4th Twilight Zone heads-up, I duly popped over to Youtube and watched the two episodes relevant to our interests (ie, starring Shatner).
And omg.
I am one of those people who is ridiculously attracted to him as Kirk, so I was expecting, you know, cuteness, but seriously, you guys. You guys, seriously. He is so un-fricking-believably gorgeous here, particularly in The Nick of Time, that I absolutely had to make a stupid number of screencaps for your viewing pleasure. I want to have carnal relations with his hair.
If you want to watch the episode in question, part 1, which links to the other parts, is here:
And now to screencaps!

There appears to be some sort of hot water leak. I am sitting here waiting for maintance- Who told me they'd be here 2 hours ago.
The hot water pipe broke between our apartments and is leaking into the ground which explains why the ground is hot to the touch and why we dont have any water.
:( I was gonna have lunch with fish. I wont make it at this rate.

When I saw the trailer in front of Public Enemies, I didn't notice long-time GQMF Joseph Fiennes (a la Shakespeare In Love, the hidden shadow of Ralph Fiennes) hopping to and fro in his black vest. Instead, I saw the great JOHN CHO, and I EXPERIENCED ECSTASY.
I seriously couldn't contain myself. As an Asian girl who is voyeuristically concerned about Asian representations on the silver screen and who, recently had a Korean boyfriend for a surreal two weeks, I do gaze with interest at John Cho's and other Korean actors' careers. From his surprisingly well-crooning voice in VIVA LA UNION on Myspace, to his brief and occasional appearances in ONTD_ST party posts, I recognize his right to existence, even though I thought I convinced myself and everyone else I am solely obsessed with LaQuinto.
I did not realize how Cho had actually crept into my subconscious until I found my heart beating rapidly and my eyes darting from corner to corner of the big screen when his face appeared in the trailer for Flash Forward.
( Discuss this new series! It's like a new Heroes all over again! )

Okay so remember when I posted that GIF about Kirk getting denied the hot alien lovin'?
So I was chattin' with
astridthemighty on twitter about what kind of alien lovin' he WOULD get. And we basically agreed that, er, ALL OF THEM.
um so I made this.

And
astridthemighty made this.

And we think you guys should chime in with other monsters/aliens/misc lifeforms James Kirk Would Do! :D
(sorry mods, hilarious fail during first posting attempt was caused by mistyping "img" as "omg" LOOK IT'S A PERFECTLY REASONABLE MISTAKE ALRIGHT XD)

No wonder the guests were 'excited' - apparently this only cost them $30 each! *envy*

Hello! I notice that my absence from LJ has got to the point now where people have started sending me concerned messages, and so I feel I must explain myself. About a month ago I went out on fieldwork for two weeks to a farm near a village of 200 people in the middle of nowhere. Yesterday, I got back. Things... took a little longer than we were expecting, and having spent a month living on a campsite and working twelve-hour shifts seven days a week on a drill rig in the middle of winter, I now return only to leave again for another field-trip tomorrow. Apparently, my life here is much more rock and roll than I ever thought it would be. Well, if getting up three hours before dawn every day for a month to go and make very deep holes in a farm paddock in the freezing cold counts as rock and roll, anyway. Anyway, I have received all your missives, and thanks for your thoughts -- I'll hopefully be getting around to answering them, along with the crazy number of comments to my Big Bang, come the end of this next trip. As for this post, I probably won't answer comments to it, but I thought I'd better put these pictures up for my own memories before I lost the will to live went off and took a bunch more. Be warned -- there's a lot.

Hello, my darling GQMFs~
Today (tonight, whatever) I come to you with a very serious question. Do any of you RP Star Trek? And if you don't have any idea what that two letter acronym stands for, here, have a wiki.
I just dropped $40 on the Star Trek novelization and the audiobook when it should've been spent on food or gas, but dammit, having Zachary Quinto on my iPod is infinitely more important. My wallet and my keyboard are crying at the conviction with which I typed that sentence. So...LET'SPUNCH IT DO THIS SHIT UP, Y'ALL. WE'LL BE THE MOST GQ BRIDGE CREW (oh god does that rhyme?!) LIVEJOURNAL HAS EVER SEEN.
P.S. I have dibs on playing Spock.
EDIT: Okay so I wasn't expecting this sort of response at all because apparently I've totally underestimated the size of the RP community and oh god I don't even have any Star Trek icons I am so committing an icon faux paus right now, aren't I?! Anyway, uh, my idea was to get a bridge crew together and RP, but this is clearly an opportunity for something BIGGER and BETTER and MORE MOTHERFUCKING GQ.
It's probably not a good idea to have the RP going on here, though. It might be a better idea to get together a crew (or crews, probably) and start a community for the logs. THOUGHTS?
P.P.S. My AIM is homerunmafia if anyone wants to contact me through there.
EDIT 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: Okay, folks,
gethenian freakin' rocks because they just whipped up a LJ community like it's as easy as baking a cake. A moist, delicious cake sprinkled with AWESOME. It's still under construction, but it's a resource for GQMFs like ourselves to gather and RP all things Star Trek fabulously. Here. Check it out! And to everyone who I haven't replied to below: I'm sorry, but I got a little bit overwhelmed!

( Princess Whitelaw invites you in )Happy Birthday, America. I know you aren’t perfect. You’ve had growing pains, and you still have a long way to go – but I’m grateful. I’m grateful that you can and do change for the better. I’m grateful that you are a place where I can live in relative freedom, and where I can believe that someday the people I love will all have the same freedoms I do.
I am going to keep working toward that goal with everything I have.
For better or for worse, happy Independence Day. America: I do love you.
